Remove Andrew Jackson's portrait from the $20 bill.

Created by K.L. on November 30, 2014

With the passage of The Indian Removal Act of 1830, Andrew Jackson oversaw and helped orchestrate a genocide against the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee-Creek, Seminole, and Cherokee peoples. The Trail of Tears, a mass, forced exodus of native peoples across the Mississippi, led to the death of thousands of innocent men, women and children. These actions should be abhorred, not honored, and we are proposing the removal of Jackson's visage from the $20 bill.

His portrait should be replaced with that of a truly great American. A few suggestions: Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Sitting Bull, Soujourner Truth, Tecumseh, Susan B. Anthony.

Let's honor the unheard voices of American history. Please take this violator of human rights off of our money.
