It does not make sense that we are following an antiquated system that no longer serves the will of the people. The popular vote is the will of this country, and yet the electoral college has defied this will twice in the last two decades. In addition to this the Electoral College does makes individual votes unequal. A direct popular vote to determine the President of the United States will ensure that every vote counts equally and that the will of the people is followed.
