Elected officials serve for a temporary time, once they no longer hold office they should no longer be compensated. Holding office should not be a career, and the office holder should not expect pay for life for public service. Once a public office holder exits the office, they should cease to draw funds from the public treasury.
Please discontinue "pay for life" for public servants.
