Remove the authority of Congress to decide thier own raise in salary and give it to the people of their districts.

Created by B.S. on December 31, 2012

The national debt is rising and congress cannot decide on a plan to fix it. In the middle of this they voted to give themselves a raise in salary.

As most people work for an employer we understand our performance has to be acceptable or better in order to receive a raise. Since the people in congress are elected by the people, a system for their approval should be used to determine raises.

I propose that a survey be sent to registered voters of the respective congressional districts about the job performance of our elected officials. Using the survey results to determine acceptable job performance would decide the raise or the percentage thereof.
