ATF reclassified machine guns decommissioned by the US military and sold as scrap metal into illegal machine guns.Thousands of law abiding firearms enthusiasts who bought them as military memorabilia and curios when they were lawful to possess are now turned into criminals in possession of an illegal machine gun and subject to 10 years in prison. ATF has been hiding the ball from the public by not releasing the destruction standards for destroyed military machine guns and not publicly disclosing that ATF now considers them to be contraband. ATF director Jones is fully aware of the situation as he was served on April 5, 2013 with a lawsuit regarding the issue. (9th Circuit case 14-55187). Pulling sneaky shenanigans against the citizenry of the United States is grounds for removal.
