Remove blackout restrictions from sports and allow people to watch in-market teams over the internet.

Created by T.B. on February 26, 2014

As more and more consumers are "cutting the cord" to view television programming online using services such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime, one segment of the population is unable to do so because of archaic restrictions: sports fans.

Blackout restrictions are outdated and preventing consumers from truly having a choice in how they view sports content. This isn't a problem for fans that reside outside the market their favorite teams - the apps and platforms that exist for internet viewing work just fine for them (MLB.TV, NBA League Pass, NHL GameCenter) however fans that wish to enjoy the same experience and convenience for their home teams are stuck paying for expensive cable services.
