remove cannabis from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, allowing federal recognition of medical marijuana.

Created by O.L. on January 07, 2014

Cannabis could be rescheduled by Attorney General Eric Holder right now if he wanted. With accepted legitimate medical use, the raids will stop. The Controlled Substances Act provides that simple authority to the Attorney General and no, cannabis is not as harmful as heroin. That’s what this change means. This is vital. Removing it from Schedule I removes the blanket federal ban on it being prescribed by doctors. The government does not know better than doctors, and we accept the judgement of doctors. Keeping cannabis in Schedule I is INCREDIBLY stupid. Eric Holder has the executive authority to fix that. All it takes is the stroke of a pen. I suspect he’s brave enough, but we the people need to demand it. Why would he end the raids if there's no public demand for it? Sign on.
