The cap should be removed immediately. Doing so would assure the financial health of this program. Holding current and future recipients ransom and in effect threatening their retirement by lowering payouts on withholding they contributed for decades is unforgivable without addressing this bias.
The simplest solution to the problem of questionable continued viability of the hugely popular and proven Social Security program is to remove the withholding cap, which unfairly burdens workers earning less than $110,000 per year while relieving those who can afford to pay much more of their responsibility to contribute their fair share.
It is unethical not to right this wrong.
It is negligent not to implement this solution.
Protect the retirement of middle and low-income workers now.
