Currently, only the first $110,100 of income is considered taxable for the 6.2% social security tax. In a time when the country is struggling to find alternative sources of revenue, while reducing or flattening expenses, removing this cap seems like a quick, easy, and relatively painless change that will only be felt at the highest income levels.
