Remove Christopher Columbus Day as a National Holiday.

Created by O.W. on March 04, 2014

He was the first European explorer to gain attention with the colonial powers vi-a-vis America. He was also a brutal Governor of Cuba, Landed on Mainland Florida one time, and was responsible for the deaths of Thousands of Native and Black Slaves. While he may have an important role to consider in the discovery of the whole continent, he certainly did little to none regarding the founding of America and the discovery of current American lands, which is what is commonly celebrated during the holiday. Remove the horrible legacy and misconception by removing this Holiday.
