Remove Class Rank From High Schools

Created by N.E. on June 19, 2013

Today, many American public high schools rank students in order based on the students' GPA. The system of class rank is a heavy factor in college admissions, if reported. The issue with class rank is that it differs from school to school. One could go to an extremely competitive high school and have his or her's class rank look lower than if they went to the neighboring school system which was performing at a lower standard. The system also discourages students at risk of dropping out. They may feel inferior and begin to lose the shreds of confidence they have left! High School dropouts have been proven to cost us money.

I am proposing that we abolish class ranks in US Public Schools and we abolish the use of class ranks in college admissions! Please help me end the unfair practice!
