Congress has long held the ability to give themselves a raise and this really needs this should be looked at again since they are willing to cut funding from other sources such as education, health and the military. The average congressman earns $174,000 yearly, not to mention their benefits package which nets them $285,000 yearly. If the rest of America must tighten their belts, why do they get to give themselves a raise? People of America, please give your voice! Tell the administration that the American people, who on average earn $50,875 yearly should not be subjected to this! Remove their power to give themselves a raise, and have their position a serious review.
