We the undersigned request that President Barack Obama remove Drug Enforcement Administrator Michele Leonhart from office for refusing to acknowledge any distinction in harmfulness or addiction potential between marijuana and other Schedule I drugs while testifying before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on June 20, 2012.
We believe that marijuana is less harmful and less addictive than heroin, meth, crack, and pain pills. Whether Administrator Leonhart genuinely believes "all illegal drugs are bad" (with no greater depth) or she is merely being evasive, we do not want a person who refuses to even address the different risks that marijuana and heroin present. This Administration should not stand for such blatant disregard of commonly-held scientific knowledge in the name of politicking.
