Remove divisive provisions from the plan to address mass violence by the mentally ill and focus on areas of consensus.

Created by C.P. on January 16, 2013

Remove divisive provisions from the plan to address mass violence by the mentally ill thus allowing a much larger coalition including gun owners and constitutionally concerned citizens to support the effort. Specifically, remove calls for new bans on so called "Assault Weapons" and magazines. Instead focus on areas of consensus including parity in school security and preventing weapons from being available to the mentally ill. Target the problem people behind the tragedies instead of the tools they choose to use and ensure equal protection at school for all of America's children, regardless of their parent's occupation or income level.
