The Electoral College was initially put in place because it was deemed that the average American citizen may not be educated enough to vote in the best interest of the country. With today’s technologies and media this is not the case anymore. The majority of Americans are educated and have access to several news outlets; the people can make a well-educated and informed decision. One person one vote, everybody counts.
