Twice in the last five elections have I seen a new President elected who was not the popular vote winner because of the electoral college system. This system has reduced our election process to a numbers game. My state's electoral votes went to the person I voted for, but what about all of those people who did not vote the same way I did? The use of the electoral college ultimately sends the message that their vote does not count. I propose we disband the electoral college and choose our Presidents using the popular vote.
