The Electoral College was a legitimate necessity during the early days of our country as every citizen could not not be reasonably expected to make it to a voting area. With today's technology and modes of transportation, this is no longer true. Every other election is based on the popular vote. This will also help to remove money from politics as the candidate cannot buy Electoral votes via super PACS. I also encourage Congress to outlaw campaign contributions. Every political party should choose four candidates, and all of these candidates should debate on the National Stage. Campaign ads should be illegal. Let the people hear who represents them best, and allow them to vote for that person.
