In the past election, as I'm sure most people know, Donald Trump beat his opponent Hillary Clinton to the nomination, gaining 290 electoral college votes in opposition to her 228. However, at the time of writing this, Hillary received 60,274,974 individual votes as opposed to the 59,937,338 votes for Donald Trump. Seeing as how Hillary had an advantage of over 300,000 votes, yet she still lost to Donald, I believe that the Electoral College unfairly represents the concept of a democratic election wherein the people choose our leader. Not to mention, it is a very old-fashioned system, being put in place to control the uneducated masses while also not having to count all the votes. That can be done electronically now, and much more of the USA's population can educate themselves on politics.
