The embargo of Cuba was a diplomatic form of a slap in the face for Castro. He had had the audacity to depose a "friend" of U.S. It served its purpose 50 years ago and since has just been a cruel burden on the general population. The strong supporters in Congress are those beholden to so-called"Christians" who fear any non-believer as a threat to their "Faith."
