We want to be connected with the world from the palm of our hands. We pay cell phone companies for that privilege. What I was disturbed to discover is that we a also pay a little something extra in the form of a tax on our cell phone bill for a service that I, nor no one I have spoken with have asked for. We are able to turn off "severe" alerts, "extreme" alerts, and amber alerts, but we are unable to remove the so-called "Presidential alert". We already pay taxes to our states and the federal government to use these devices and do not deserve to have another nonsensical tax forced on us for a service that we neither need, nor want. Remove the emergency messages and the hidden tax that comes with it.
