Beginning June 22, 2010, the Family Smoking Prevention Act and the Tobacco Control Act required every smokeless tobacco package to have a warning label taking up 1/3 of the packaging. These labels ruin the look of the packaging and do nothing to prevent minors from using smokeless tobacco, nor do they make anyone want to quit.
It is also proven that smokeless tobacco is less harmful than cigarettes, and the cancer rates are much lower. Adults that choose to use smokeless tobacco are going to use it regardless of the warning labels.
We the people ask that the FDA remove these warning labels as they are a nuisance and do nothing for public health.
