In the year 2013, passengers of commercial airline flights all know the mechanics of fastening seat belts.
Requiring millions of passengers and thousands of flight attendants to endure the mandatory, demeaning, and annoying buckle and strap instructions is unneeded bureaucracy that needs to end.
Losing that part of the pre-flight speech would allow for the possibility of earlier takeoffs for every flight without adding any additional risk or confusion.
This petition request is not to mandatorily remove the instructions, or require anything mandatorily be said. The option to annoy passengers with these instructions can be under the control of each airline.
Please sign this petition to remove the requirement of listening to (or ignoring) these instructions ever again.
