In the rostrum of the House of Representatives, behind the podium that the President addresses Congress from, two Bronze Fasces hang on the wall on either side of the American Flag. Please Support this petition to ask for them to be permanently removed.
Once intended to be a "symbol of civic authority", Fasces today represent Fascism, an inappropriate symbol for the United States of America.
Remove the Fasces as they were removed from the "Mercury Dime" after WWII. They do not represent our liberty, but our oppression.
