Nearly 100 former Justice Department officials have condemned the "astonishing" action by FBI Director James Comey who announced to Congress a "new review" on a closed case involving one of the 2016 Presidential candidates on the eve of the election itself. Because this action was unsolicited, unnecessary, went far outside FBI guidelines and custom, and was made without apparent cause or urgency we believe Comey should be charged with election tampering and removed immediately from office by the President (or impeached by the Congress through Article II, Section 4 of the US Constitution). In the interests of justice this action must be taken immediately in order to restore parity and fairness to the election process.
