The issue of legalizing marijuana has been a huge topic of discussion for a very long time. Currently, the federal government has control over enforcing the war on drugs which has been very costly both in terms of finances and people’s lives. The question at hand here should not really be whether or not marijuana should be legal, rather the question should focus on whether this should be a state or national issue. If the United States wants to adhere to the Constitution, then the legalization of marijuana should be up to the states and the federal government should stay out of the decision.
