Imagine you join the military and help to protect and fight for the freedom of America. After years of service you are involuntary separated from your Military Branch due to disability from your service. You receive separation pay to help you adjust to civilian life & as an award for your dedication. You go to Veteran Affairs and informed that due to your military disability you can receive 70-100% disability benefits. When you go to Verteran Affairs to receive your disability benefits you are told that you must first repay back your separation pay given by the Military.
Why reward a Veteran only to later ask to take it away? We need to remove Federal Law 10 USC 1174 so that America truly honors its Veterans.
