Remove the Firearm Owners Protection Act's Control Over Machine Guns Produced After 1986

Created by J.M. on September 30, 2014

To Whomever It May Concern,
As American Citizens, our rights are infringed upon by this Act. It unfairly restricts the purchase, operation, and ownership of a group of items that we, as citizens, are entitled to in the Bill of Rights. This Act has "acted" as a device of the government, implemented for safety purposes. The data supporting the idea that fully automatic weapons in the hands of civilians were dangerous was not founded on concrete evidence. When the Act was passed, it may have been away of rooting out "undesirable substances", much like in the case of prohibition laws. Unlike in the case of Prohibition Laws, The Firearm Owners Protection Act was not repealed, and needs to be. Sincerely, Silence Dogood.
