We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Remove food allergens as a Disqualification for enlisting in the Military, so more citizens may enlist and serve

Created by A.C. on November 22, 2016

I come from a long family of military background, and when I graduated high school some years ago, I wanted nothing more than to serve in the armed forces. Not only myself, but many others I know have been automatically disqualified from enlisting via MEPS, when they hear we have a food allergy.
Many other countries allow citizens to enlist in their military under the same condition. They make an effort to accommodate those who would serve their country in return. The armed forces would grow significantly if this disqualification were to be removed. I believe it to be the right of US citizens to serve this great nation should they choose, free of restriction. Let us match the notion of other countries allowing their citizens to serve, and see our armed forces prosper.
