Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has signed into law a bill that toughens penalties against gay people and defines some homosexual acts as crimes punishable by life in prison and sentences for anyone who reaches out to gays and lesbians, a provision that would ensnare rights groups and others providing services to the homosexual community.
"If the West doesn't want to work with us because of homosexuals, then we have enough space here to live by ourselves and do business with other people."
President Museveni says sexual behavior is a matter of choice and gay people are "disgusting" and "being homosexual is "unnatural" and not a human right."
President Obama, please remove the $487 million dollars in foreign aid to Uganda. We as a nation must address human rights violations head on.
