The United State Mint should be required to redesign coins to replace images of former presidents with iconic American images. The obverse of all U.S. coins bears images of former presidents. Historically coins bore images of Liberty, rather than specific people. If coins were redesigned to reflect images that reflect of American values and identify, rather than glorifying specific people, there would be a spike in coin collecting and communal interest in providing input on designs. Coins might show iconic American images such as: children playing baseball, the Statute of Liberty, the Rocky Mountains, the USS Constitution in Boston Harbor, American wildlife such as wolves or bears, or other meaningful images.
