Military members that qualify for the Post 911 GI Bill have the option to transfer these benefits to family members if they chose to. In order to do this the service member is required to serve an additional four years of service.
This option is not really the problem for Soldiers starting out in the Military, but senior Soldiers that are retiring are finding it an option they are not will to make. After 20 years in the military it should no longer be a requirement for a Soldier to serve an additional four years to do something he/she has earned. Therefore I am asking to have this requirement removed from the Post 911 GI Bill.
