"Under god " and " in god we trust", where added to the pledge and currency, respectively in the 1950s as a way to distance America from the Atheistic Soviet Union and enforce the us verses them mob mentality. Now of course, it serves no purpose and is a violation of the American principle of seperation of church and state. It is on these grounds that we urge the Obama administration to take all means necessary to remove god from the pledge and currency.
