The currency of the United States currently contains the phrase "In God We Trust" on it. This was added in the 1950's, and is unconstitutional. It supports one religion over another, and should be removed from all currency. It violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
In your former response, you said: "Our nation's Bill of Rights guarantees not only that the government cannot establish an official religion...". No, the 1st Amend. says you cannot make a LAW that RESPECTS any religion. Making a law that we need this on our money, in our pledge, etc, RESPECTS religion.
Although people of different faiths played important roles in our society, it's not religion that was ever important, but the people themselves.
"We" includes all, correct?
