This petition was created because there are many atheists, agnostics, nonreligious, and even religious citizens of this country who believe that the inclusion of God in the pledge and on our money is a violation of the rights laid out in the first amendment. For too long, the wishes of the majority have infringed on the rights of the minority and it is time for our beliefs to be respected and for the U.S. Constitution to be upheld.
