Remove Home Owners Association Powers. A home is the property of the individual who purchased it, not a 3rd party.

Created by H.A. on August 31, 2015

A few home owner associations are good but a majority use their power to implement draconian laws. A home of an individual does not feel like a home, it feels like you rent the place from the HOA. That is not the purpose of purchasing a home. HOA should not have the authority to scrutinize and refuse every minute detail on your lot, their only power should be to make sure the neighborhood is clean your garbage and that nothing is overtly dangerous. The decision should lie in the hands of the home owner and the approval from immediate neighbours, not a board of a few people who don't even live next to you. These draconian powers remove the creative nature of enhancing your home and restrict home ownership ideas that the lot is owned by an individual, not an association.
