Right now there is no military draft. When a male individual turns 18 he must sign up for the selective service. The Selective Service System is tasked with preparing to manage a military draft if and when Congress and the President so direct.
The idea of a military draft should be revoked. All it does is cause stress to families and to the people who may be drafted.
In times of need individuals will rise to the occasion to protect and fight for their country. They should have the choice on if they are going into battle not to be forced.
