remove interest rate charges on student loans so that we can pay down on the principal and bring down national debt.

Created by R.G. on February 07, 2012

Dear President Obama:
Please get rid of student loan interest rates! We were glad for the opportunity to obtain student loans to further our education. We want others to have the same opportunity. We WANT to pay back what we rightfully owe. But, the economy is not yet what it needs to be. Most of us can't afford to pay $900 monthly in student loans. Our payments are barely covering the interest, never touching the principle, so we end up owing more than we borrowed and taking more time to pay it.
Please give us a break! We don't all want to file bankruptcy to get rid of this debt. But we do need a way to pay down the principle so that the debt owed can be reasonably eliminated, and, so we can contribute to the stabilization of our economy by bringing down the national student loan debt.
