Director Comey recently wrote a vague and misleading letter to Congress about the pending review of additional evidence related to the investigation of Secretary Clinton's handling of classified information within two weeks before the election, without even having a warrant to review the information at the time. At best, this action could be described as incompetent, and at worst, a blatantly partisan attempt to influence the outcome of a national election, in violation of the Hatch Act. In order to restore faith in the FBI as a non-partisan institution, reduce government incompetence, and deter future politicization of the office, we urge the President to immediately request Director Comey's resignation.
