Remove Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens from the National Statuary Hall Collection in the Capitol.

Two true heroes, Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks share space in the U.S. capitol, our nation's political and legal center with numerous representatives of the Confederate States of America, not the least of which being CSA President, Jefferson Davis of Mississippi and CSA vice president, Alexander Stephens of Georgia. Now, in a history littered with paradoxes, contradiction, tragedy, and a fair amount of irony, this present-day reality seems more than a little of all the aforementioned. These symbols of the Confederacy and racist ideology are inimical to American values today. The fact that they continue to be honored in our nation's capitol in this way is an affront to African American's and their ancestors who were enslaved during the Confederacy. These statues should be removed.
