Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) was recently reappointed as the chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. The committee works on environmental issues such as the protection of clean air, water, and wildlife. Inhofe is one of Congress' most vocal deniers of manmade climate change and in 2012 wrote the book "The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future." His biggest donors are from the oil and gas industries. Inhofe has said, "The arrogance of people to think that we human beings would be able to change what God is doing in the climate is to me outrageous." The committee's mission to protect against increasing threats of irreversible damage to our global ecosystem is jeopardized by Inhofe's chairmanship. We petition to remove him immediately.
