Kraigen Grooms, 16 at the time of the crime, 17 at the time of arrest, raped a 2-year-old child on video. Investigators believe the assault was premeditated and that Grooms had targeted a 3-year-old boy for a similar assault. Grooms only received 2 years in a juvenile detention and then the Wapello county jail and Randy DeGeest ultimately released Grooms with a 10 year suspended sentence.
Judge Myron Gookin handled most of the proceedings, but Judge Randy DeGeest is the judge who gave this disgusting sentencing.
While people are rotting in prison for marijuana, drug addiction, etc. Kraigen Grooms walks free.
I don't know if a petition will help this cause, but people need to be made aware of the sad state of our judicial system following the likes of Brock Turner and Kraigen Grooms.
