To remove Keratoconus as a Medical Disqualification Within the Department of Defense for Enlistment or Commissioning

Created by C.R. on September 18, 2013

This petition has been made to change the Department of Defense Instruction 6130.03 (DoDI 6130.03), Page 11 , Section C which states that;
"Corneal dystrophy or degeneration of any type (371.x), including but not limited to
keratoconus (371.6x) of any degree" is disqualifying in the military.
Eye treatment, such as Holcomb C3R, has been proven effect versus Keratoconus making this instruction outdated and damaging to the careers of servicemen and women. This petition is requesting Keratoconus is removed from the DoDI mentioned above and is no longer a medically disqualifying factor in the military.
