Remove The Law in all states that give children Criminal records for Skipping school. It is Unconstitutional.

Created by M.G. on May 02, 2013

Giving children under the age of 18 a criminal record, a fine and jail time for skipping school is in my book and thousands of others a Cruel and Unusual Punishment for such actions. I myself deem it Unconstitutional. It is a waste of tax payers money to jail kids for skipping school. Make room in the jails for real criminals. Sending a child to jail for not going to school is the same as jailing that child for not doing there homework. There is no difference. We have rights in a free country to make our own choices. You take that away when you force a kid to go to school. If they do not want to go to school, then let them learn. State of maine does not send kids to jail for skipping school and they all grow up and turn out just fine. Give the kids a break.
