In 1996 Congress passed a law requiring the Veterans Administration to take those monies back in payment for receiving a severance at separation. If Veterans lay their lives on the line every day, are they/we not entitled to these benefits? The law to recoup these monies needs to be repealed. Veterans all over our country depend on these benefits to make ends meet and help support our families. I urge Congress to take another look at this law and a look into their own conscience and see what is right.
