The responsible carry and use of firearms is our best means in protecting ourselves and those around us that may not be capable of protecting themselves.
Establishing more rigid gun control laws will only disarm those interested in following the law. Individuals intent on causing harm to others are not proponents of gun laws. They will commit violent acts regardless of any new or past legislation.
Furthermore, cases exist where such firearm legislation was enacted internationally where violent crime has increased dramatically.
Vetted individuals (i.e. conceal permit holders, etc.) are potentially the first line of defense and allowing these individuals the right to carry and bear arms in certain 'gun free zones' is our best response to deadly force.
