The reason for this petition is to ask the president and his cabinet to discuss the removal of marijuana as a class a substance. It is a natural product that has been smoked for thousands of years. There should be no reason a natural growing product should be worse than drugs made from a cocktail of chemicals and poisons.
A second reason for its removal as a class A substance is to bring relieve from tax payers and states who spend billions of dollars a year for the 'fight' against it.
We know the pharmaceutical companies don't want it legalized as it is a cheap and effective treatment for a lot of legal drugs out there. I personally (the petition writer) have seen people on depression meds and they, often times, are more depressed and/or suicidal on the so called anti-depressants.
