The 'Controlled Substance Act' (CSA) created in 1970, has marijuana classified as a schedule 1 drug. Under the description of schedule 1 substances, marijuana is categorized in the same manner as heroin and LSD, citing no medical use or social value and a lack of acceptable safe usage. Since the CSA was originally drafted, medical science has since determined that marijuana has profound and acceptable uses with a substantial safety record for adult consumption.
The attorney general has the authority to reclassify or remove any substance listed in the CSA and the people of the United States of America hereby demand that marijuana be removed from the CSA and treated with similar regard as alcoholic beverages or libations.
