Remove Marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act (1970), allow states to regulate it as they do alcohol and tobacco.

Schedule I substances have the following findings:
The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.
If marijuana has a high potential for abuse, why are more deaths caused each year by tobacco use (perfectly legal) than by ALL deaths from HIV, illegal drugs, alcohol, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined. If marijuana had no accepted medical use, why were thousands of cannabis and hemp based medicines available in 1969 before prohibition? If marijuana is unsafe, even "under medical supervision" why are doctors recommending it? The people have spoken. Legalize it.
