As president Obama has stated, marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol which is a legal substance. Schedule 1 narcotics are supposedly the most dangerous of all drugs and this is obviously not the case with marijuana. The prohibition of marijuana costs the U.S. government around $20 billion each year instead of the massive tax revenue that could be earned if it were to be legalized, regulated and taxed. It is time to face the facts and remove marijuana from the schedule 1 narcotics list.
