Obviously, the government is years away from even considering fully legalizing marijuana. Understandable - this recreational drug has been demonized by the media for decades and many congressional representatives are still afraid to stand up against this ancient prohibition.
Perhaps a more reasonable compromise would be to remove the marijuana issue from the purview of the federal government.
If the substance was grown, sold, and used in one state, how does the federal government get the right to tell that state "no" (especially if that state could benefit from the money being taken in on marijuana tax)?
They have every right to limit interstate trade of marijuana, but not to make it illegal in all its forms and in all places.
Lets take a step forward in the right for our freedom.
